Gavin Roweth
After going to art colleges during the 1980's, Gavin was able to return to sculpting full time 25 years ago.
Much of his carving uses Portland ‘Basebed’ Limestone. It is a dense sedimentary stone that can create the type of surfaces and lines he likes to express in his sculptures. Most of Gavin's carvings are designed around repeating patterns found in nature.
Even the simplest of organic forms can create a subjective emotion, an instinctive bond to the nature around us.
