I spent many years working as a printmaker, specialising in contemporary landscape etchings and exhibiting throughout the UK. I combined pattern, texture and mood to give a sense of place and as a member of the Society of Botanical Artists, plant life has always been important in my work. After many years spent turning the press, I’m now working in ink and coloured pencil. This evolved naturally via botanical studies, mixed media and coloured pencil work during my search for a natural successor to etching. I love the slightly retro, illustrative quality of ink combined with coloured pencil and will be showing my first collection of new work at Cranbrook.
