Jane Buttery
Jane's paintings develop through her drawings and photographs. Focus is on shapes and textures, but first it is about play and experimentation with the media. Subliminal images start to develop. By scraping and redrawing, a complex series of marks appear through multiple layers. Paintings must not lose their spontaneity and clarity. Paintings are challenging, but the rewards are great. Jane wants the viewer to search for their own interpretation - something different but recognisable at the same time.
