Lucy Clayton, SGFA
Inspired by the vibrant colours and patterns in nature and food, Lucy's work blends graphic detail with the elegance of watercolour. She explores how taste, texture and smell evoke memory and emotion, often drawing from personal experiences.
Currently, Lucy has been working with the blotted line technique. She begins with a detailed drawing, transfers it onto tracing paper and then prints it with drawing ink onto watercolour paper. This slow, tactile process invites texture and unpredictability, adding depth and character to each piece while celebrating the beauty of imperfection and chance.
